The Mesa Youth Climate Action Fund, or MYCAF, empowers young people ages 15 to 24 to design and implement solutions to Mesa’s climate challenges. Supported by $150,000 in funding from Bloomberg Philanthropies, MYCAF provides microgrants to youth-led projects aligned with the Mesa Climate Action Plan, advancing sustainability and community resilience. In its first year, 12 projects engaged more than 150 youth, delivering tree and pollinator plantings, air quality sensors, solar installations, and composting systems. In 2025, the program expanded to support 18 projects involving over 1,100 youth and community partners.
