Center for Negative Carbon Emissions
2026 Crescordia Award RecipientThe Center for Negative Carbon Emissions, also known as CNCE at Arizona State University is advancing innovative technical, policy, and societal solutions to address climate change and support a sustainable future. Recognizing that emissions reductions alone are not enough to meet global climate goals, the Center focuses on technologies capable of safely removing excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. CNCE reframes carbon dioxide as a waste management challenge—developing affordable methods to capture, transport, and permanently store carbon. By pairing scientific innovation with policy and systems thinking, the Center is helping build the tools needed to address climate change at scale, positioning Arizona State University at the forefront of negative emissions research and climate leadership.
