The Charles T. Hayden House (La Casa Vieja) Rehabilitation

The Charles Trumbull Hayden House, also known as La Casa Vieja, was initially constructed in 1873 and has been recognized as the oldest extant Anglo-American building in the Salt River Valley. The Hayden House has been restored to its 1924 appearance, which honors Tempe’s origins as a major gateway intersection and is testament to the city’s commitment to preserving its history.
