Transportation Primer Cover

These are some of the questions addressed in a transportation primer released by Arizona Forward, the state's oldest environmental nonprofit. Its charge is to promote cooperative efforts to improve the livability, sustainability and economic vitality of Arizona’s cities and towns.

Arizona’s future economic development will be tied closely to its willingness to commit funding and resources to improving and expanding its transportation system. The purpose of the primer is to provide opinion leaders and the general public with the information they need to evaluate this complex topic so they can make more informed transit choices.

Arizona Forward developed the primer to provide unbiased facts, background information and viable alternatives to consider as the state moves forward with transportation planning. Our hope is that it will serve as a catalyst for discussion to help find workable and affordable alternatives to meet our future transportation needs.

Stewarding Arizona's
Environment Since 1969

Arizona Forward was founded as Valley Forward in 1969, one year before the first Earth Day. We expanded statewide in 2013.

We mobilize business leaders and policymakers to leverage their collective power to influence how we best grow our communities, stimulate our economy and enhance our environment.

Our diverse membership of large corporations and small businesses, along with municipal, county and state agencies, educational institutions, related nonprofits and concerned citizens help ensure: smart growth and development, efficient transportation, improved air quality, responsible water management, energy alternatives and meaningful education.
