Water In Our Desert Community is an instructional resource for grades 6 through 9 that provides students and teachers with information about central Arizona's water supply, water demand and the importance of wise water management in the Desert Southwest. These materials were developed with the goal of strengthening both teachers and students awareness of the social, economic and environmental impact water management has on all water users in Arizona. While intended to supplement existing curricula, the sixteen activities include concepts, attitudes and skills emphasized in the Arizona Environmental Education Framework and many of the Arizona Essential Skills documents.

Stewarding Arizona's Environment Since 1969

Arizona Forward was founded as Valley Forward in 1969, one year before the first Earth Day. We expanded statewide in 2013.

We mobilize business leaders and policymakers to leverage their collective power to influence how we best grow our communities, stimulate our economy and enhance our environment.

Our diverse membership of large corporations and small businesses, along with municipal, county and state agencies, educational institutions, related nonprofits and concerned citizens help ensure: smart growth and development, efficient transportation, improved air quality, responsible water management, energy alternatives and meaningful education.
